Massage Therapy- Jessie Boudreau, LMT
Jessie is a graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Massachusetts. She also holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance Studies from Roger Williams University. After a rewarding twelve years of practicing architecture at a local Boston firm, Jessie redirected her professional focus to pursue licensure and learn as much about massage therapy and its role in the rehabilitation process as possible. Her passion for the work is driven by her belief that understanding the root cause of pain and injury, providing a thorough assessment, and being a part of an integrative treatment plan is the most beneficial approach to the recovery process and maintaining overall wellness. Jessie’s practice includes Sports Massage Techniques, Myofascial Release Massage Techniques, Deep Tissue/Trigger Point Therapy, Postural and Movement Analysis, and Swedish Massage. She has also completed Part 1 of Howard Rontal’s Myofascial Release Massage Certification course. Every treatment session is unique in that it incorporates a range of treatment modalities that are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient/client.
As a life-long athlete, Jessie knew from a young age that she was intrigued by the human body and how it works, however she did not recognize her more specific interest in and desire to understand the mechanics of human movement until she suffered from injury as a collegiate soccer player and reaped the benefits of proper rehabilitation. Her interest in massage therapy and the rehabilitation process continued to grow during her time as a student athletic trainer; working closely with the Certified Athletic Trainers to provide treatment for athletes. Her dance studies introduced her to Rudolf Laban (a dancer, choreographer and movement theoretician) and to the Alexander Technique both which brought about a complimentary interest in the qualities of movement, the importance of body awareness, and the efficient use of energy.
Clinical interests include: Orthopedic/Sports Injuries, Structural Body Work, Spinal Cord Injuries, Stroke rehabilitation, and Chronic Pain Management for Repetitive Use Injuries. Jessie is constantly looking build on existing skills and plans to pursue additional certifications in Orthopedic Massage Therapy, Integrative Positional Therapy, Medical Massage Therapy, Neuromuscular Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Massage treatments for Spinal Cord Injury, Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT), and Amino Neuro Frequency (ANF).
When not kicking pains ass you can find Jessie digging into a home renovation project, doing freelance residential design that brings a home owners vision to life, dancing as a member of Ipswich Moving Company, playing soccer or training for the next crazy athletic challenge, or spending time with family outdoors in Maine and making a delicious meal.
